20 days Detailed Itinerary:
Day 1–2: Arrival & Preparation in Kathmandu (1,324m)
Arrival in Kathmandu, airport transfer, hotel check-in, and trekking briefing. Permit processing and optional UNESCO sightseeing.
Day 3: Fly to Bhadrapur – Drive to Taplejung (1,820m). Flight: 45 min. Drive: 7–8 hrs. Scenic journey through eastern Nepal’s tea gardens and hill landscapes.
Day 4: Drive to Sekathum (1,650m). Drive: 7–8 hrs Rugged off-road journey into the Ghunsa Khola valley. Trek officially begins.
Day 5–7: Trek to Amjilosa – Gyabla – Ghunsa.🚶 4–6 hrs daily trekking. Dense forests, waterfalls, suspension bridges, and Tibetan-style villages. Ghunsa is the main acclimatisation hub of the region.
Day 8: Acclimatisation Day in Ghunsa. Short hike to viewpoints (~4,000m) for altitude adaptation and Himalayan panoramas.
Day 9–11: Trek to Kambachen – Lhonak.🚶 4–6 hrs daily trekking. Transition from forest to high alpine glacier terrain. Experience dramatic views of Jannu Himal and glacial valleys.
Day 12: Pangpema (5,143m) – Kanchenjunga North Base Camp. The highlight of the journey: Reach the base of Kanchenjunga, surrounded by massive glaciers and Himalayan giants. Return to Lhonak after exploration.
Day 13–15: Return Trek (Ghunsa → Sekathum). Gradual descent through the alpine villages and lush valleys.
Day 16–17: Drive to Taplejung & Bhadrapur. Return journey through remote hills and Ilam tea gardens.
Day 18–20: Kathmandu & Departure. Flight to Kathmandu, buffer/sightseeing day. Final departure
